Mannix College is a co-educational, inclusive Catholic university residential college of nearly 300 residents who come from Australia and around the world. All are undertaking full-time undergraduate studies at Monash University, one of Australia’s leading universities and a member of The Group of Eight.

Studying at university as a young adult can be a transformative and challenging experience both academically and personally. As a welcoming and supportive community offering pastoral care, academic assistance and spiritual support, Mannix can help you to engage fully with University life.

Through a wide range of student organised social, sporting and cultural activities, community life at Mannix also offers fun, variety, excitement and enrichment. At a practical level, you also receive serviced accommodation and tasty meals with catering options to suit most dietary requirements. You will also have access to an onsite gym.

Our goal at Mannix is not only to support and enable all our residents to achieve their potential academically but also to help each person grow as an individual and as an engaged and active College member and a global citizen.

A note on COVID-19 vaccination requirements

Residents must be double vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide a copy of their vaccination certificate to Mannix College. This condition extends to any guests/visitors that a resident may bring to the College.

Residents with an authorised medical exemption are encouraged to discuss their needs with the College before accepting an offer.

Residents accept that this vaccination requirement may change subject to relevant health advice (e.g. a booster shot/s may be required), or College requirements.

About Dr Sergio Fabris

Dr Sergio Fabris was appointed Acting Principal of Mannix College in July 2021 and has worked as a Psychologist with young adults for most of his career.

Prior to joining Mannix College as its Deputy Principal in 2019, Sergio was the Vice Principal at St Hilda’s College of The University of Melbourne for nearly 11 years.

He has worked as a Student Counsellor and a Student Services Manager at RMIT University where he worked for 25 years. He has also been a lecturer in psychology at both The University of Melbourne and Monash University.

He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and a PhD in Psychology both from The University of Melbourne. His PhD investigated the link between leisure interests and career aspirations among young adults.

Sergio lives onsite with his partner, Allison. He has three adult children, Emilia, Patrick and Daniel. He loves cooking, hiking, doing sudokus and crosswords. and enjoys catching up with family.
