2017 Schedule of Fees
Due to the high demand for accommodation at Mannix College, contracts are only offered for the full academic year, excluding the mid-semester break.
For 2017, the contract period for first year residents (Freshers) is 35 weeks, commencing on Sunday 19 February until Saturday 18 November, excluding the mid-semester break, which begins on 25 June, and concludes on 23 July.
During this time residents are required to vacate their rooms. Residents who’s home address is interstate or overseas may be permitted to leave their belongings in their room during this time, while Victorian residents need to take their belonging with them.
Please note, residents are required to vacate their rooms each semester no more than 24 hours following their final exam or assessment.

The Cardinal Knox Scholarships are awarded in memory of Cardinal James Robert Knox, Archbishop of Melbourne between 1967 – 1974, and have been generously made available bu the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. Scholarships are awarded each semester on the basis of outstanding academic achievement, and range from $750 to $900 per recipient.
The Principal’s Award is awarded annually to the student who, in the Principal’s view, has best combined dedication to study and a commitment to personal, social, sporting and cultural values for which the College stands. The recipient is awarded the title Academic Collegian of the Year, and awarded $800.
The Student Achievement Award is awarded to a second year (or above) resident who, in the Principal’s view, has made a significant contribution to the collegiate life of the College. The recipient of this award receives $400.
The Fresher Award is awarded to a first year resident who, in the Principal’s view, has made a significant contribution to the collegiate life of the College. The recipient of this award receives $400..
The Principal awards a number of scholarships (up to $7000) for residents to attend student leadership conferences. In previous years students have attended events held by the National Association of Australian University Colleges, and the National Student Leadership Forum.
The Principal will award a limited number of bursaries to residents whose academic progress is satisfactory and who are in genuine financial need. The College has made $10 000 available for this purpose.
